Andy Hadfield joined the Army at 18 commissioning at Sandhurst at 21. He has served all over the World, and is Mentioned in Dispatches for Gallantry, has a Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service and the US Bronze Star.

His education, training and experience have made him a highly effective leader who forms teams around him easily. He has led small teams of 24 soldiers on operations, and led a training organisation of 4500 through COVID, never once stopping residential training. In the years between these experiences he has enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done in places far from home, in times of hardship and danger and has committed himself to his people, including writing letters of condolence to the bereaved families of those who would not return home with their friends.

His first career taught has him self-discipline, moral courage, resilience, self-reliance respect and the satisfaction of watching others develop and improve, knowing he had a small hand in it. He has committed to his personal development whilst in the Army and has an MA in Military Studies, an MSc in Entrepreneurial Leadership and a Level 8 Certificate in Strategic Direction and Leadership.

Andy loves sailing, whether competitively or for leisure, and is an RYA yachting instructor, coaching and mentoring novices and improvers and developing leadership afloat. He remains interested in global affairs, military history and DIY.
